False advertising is a phrase that's thrown around often. So often, we tend to ignore it. But in the case of Tesla’s marketing of its self-driving vehicles, false advertising might quickly become homicidal advertising.
The California DMV announced that it is investigating Tesla for just that; stating to the Los Angeles Times that “Tesla is ‘under review’ ...to determine whether the company misleads customers by advertising its ‘full self-driving capability’ option.”
If the investigation finds that Tesla is in fact misleading customers, Tesla and other autonomous vehicles may begin to be removed from California roadways by law enforcement.
